Profile:
Kim has practiced with the firm since she completed law school in 2009 and became a Partner in 2019. Kim’s practice commenced primarily in the area of litigation and she has successfully appeared as counsel in all levels of court in Saskatchewan and has also appeared as counsel before the Federal Court of Canada.
Over the years, Kim’s practice has focused on civil disputes, including business and employment disputes, estate disputes and family law. While Kim has extensive litigation experience, her focus is to work with clients to explore creative options to achieve long term solutions in a timely and economical way.
Kim works with individuals, couples and families in regard to a variety of family law issues. In addition to her court room experience, Kim is a Recognized Family Mediator. Kim has additional training to provide legal coaching, mediation and legal services, both in person or online and can discuss with clients a variety of options to determine a process that is best suited to their needs. Regardless of the process, Kim’s focus is to find practical and long-term solutions for her clients. Her goal is not to find quick band aid solutions, but to work with individuals, couples or families as they transition in their relationship.
Kim has years of experience drafting prenuptial and cohabitation agreements and dealing with family law matters that arise in conjunction with corporate or estate succession planning. Kim also works with clients as they transition out of a relationship to address issues such as parenting plans, child support, spousal support, division of family property and divorce. Kim recognizes that even if a marriage ends, a family does not, and feels it is important to preserve as much civility as possible for parents and their children as they transition through a separation or divorce.
Outside of the practice of law, Kim is a mother to two young children that keep her busy and entertained on a daily basis.
